When a dream doll gets discontinued

A few days ago I went to take a look on Iplehouse's website to see if they had gotten any new interesting clothes. I then noticed their slide-banner-thingy had an image with the title "Discontinued E.I.D Heads" and saw that Ashanti was among the ones that will get discontinued.

A light brown Ashanti has been on my wishlist for so long, so this made me really sad. I considered if I could settle with a Lehela or Aaliyah. Both sculpts are lovely, but I just didn't get the same feeling I did with Ashanti. Then I did the most stupid I could do - I went to look at photos of Ashanti on Flickr and I fell for her all over again. I just have to get her!

I'm currently saving up for a new laptop since the one I have now is almost 5 years old and has seen better days. It still works fine though, it's just a bit slow and overheats once in a while. I was also planning to buy some new urethane eyes and a bit YoSD clothes this year too. If I buy Ashanti all this will be postponed which is a shame, but she is a dream doll of mine. I'd also have to go on a no spend for doll stuff if I buy Ashanti to save up for a computer again.

Wishlist for the rest of 2014

Long time no blogging - four months to be exact. I've missed blogging, but I've had some difficulties getting back into it. Let's see if I'll keep posting, I sure hope so!

I've made one of these collages with things I hoped to buy about halfway through the year back in 2012 and I thought it would be fun to make one again. Last time I only bought one thing on the list though, so hopefully I can do better this time.

Let's start with the resin. First of all I hope to buy an April Story girl body for Yoonie. How can I say no to a pretty girl body to a lovely discounted price? Then there's the Volks logo representing the SDGr girl body I want for Shay and YoSD hands for Ayla. These items are limited and not something Volks sell through their website, so their logo had to do.

Then there's the clothing. Cute simple tops and sexy pants from Tree Design. After I got a free top from Elfdoll I just have to get more and Tree Design has a lot of them. They're just perfect for casual sets. Three pair of urethane eyes from Vings. I wanted to buy these earlier, but Taobaotrends said that Vings are doing some renewal/updates and that I should wait a bit. Then there this really gorgeous dress and awesome cardigan from Nine9 Style. I want both in all colours, but as a start I want the dress in mint and the cardigan in yellow. Last we have a cute set for Ayla from Asano on Taobao and a blue shirt for Hayden from Freedom Teller.

I'm sure there'll be some of these things I won't be getting. I change my opinion all the time about what I want and then there's the companies releasing new awesome items that destroys my plans, but at least it's a start.

Blown away by Fairyland

Okay, this isn't primarily for sharing the news of the new MNFs, cause I'm sure most of you have already seen them. I'm just so blown away by the photos that I wanted to share. What a perfect and beautiful setting. T^T At first I just thought it was a backdrop with a few leaves and branches in the front, but the more photos I looked though, the more I realized that it was a complete setting with moss, small trees, roses, EVERYTHING... So perfect!
I wish I could do something similar for Isi and Eli, but I think it would be a too big project and I definitely wouldn't have the space for it.

Also.. someday I want to buy an MSD to use as a project doll, meaning that I can use her for what I have in mind, and I might just have added the girl, Rin, to my wishlist. :3

I'm a little behind on everything. *lazyness* Hopefully I will have the 'what happened in 2013' and 'resolutions for 2014' posts ready. I also started on the A Doll A Week challenge, so I also have a few shots to share. Oooh, why must I be so lazy? ._.

SWITCH event: Nice to See You, Again!

SWITCH have had some system upgrades on their site and for their return they're having an event. In this event they're re-releasing their sculpts Mara (left) and Rusi (right) in the quantity of 50 each. They can be bought on September 25th from 4PM Korean time.

I first saw that SWITCH were having this event a few days ago, but I didn't bother to look at the details before today, which were both lucky and unlucky for me. Lucky since I really want a Rusi, unlucky since LLT just released their OE Roderich whom I had planned to buy (will do a post about this in a few days). I was confused about which head I should buy, but Lise quickly convinced me to buy the Rusi head. I've always wanted to make Rusi a girl and when I looked at pictures of the sculpt today I thought that it would make a perfect Olivia. She is not very well developed yet, but at some point she will end up as Melissa's girlfriend. 

Yay for SOOM

About this time last year SOOM had a body and hands event. You could buy parts in every skin colour they ever released. At the time I bought a grey skin Tennie Gem body and also wanted to buy several of the Tennie Gem hands, but because I had 5-6 Teenie Gems at the time it was so difficult choosing who to get hands for, so in the end I never got any. -.-

I remembered about this event last week and went to SOOM's Q&A board to ask if they were planning another of these events, and their answer was yes. :D They do plan to make another event, but they don't know when it will be yet. Since I'm thinking about selling both Eli and Beatrix I will only have Isi left. I'm thinking of getting him maybe three new set of hands. I already have the cute and winnie dee hands and I know I definitely want the Silt&Keny hands. The two others might be hug me and fist hands. I dunno yet. Maybe they even have new hands since last year.

Pretty wigs I don't need

I have grown quite a weak spot for Taobao, that's no secret. I bought from them for the first time in March and have bought from there two times now. Often I go to search for a specific thing, but always end up looking at other stuff. Today I went to look for some clothes for my girls, but as usual I ended up finding something else I wanted. This time I found these lovely wigs. I seriously want all four of them. Hayden could get the black one and maybe Trent could get the red. I have absolutely no specific use for the brown and blonde, but they're just so damn pretty! And they're not even that expensive. ._. But what I really need is more clothes and not wigs. *sigh* Someone should ban Taobao on my computer!

Re-shelling an old character

A while back I decided that I wanted to re-shell one of my old characters, Ethan. I've had a few sculpts in mind for him, but they never gave me that "this is definitely the right sculpt"-feeling. So while I really did want to get him home he was never a priority. Here's how he used to look. Bad photo is bad, it's back from January 2009. xD


Since he wasn't a priority I never thought much about him. That was till the other day where I saw photos of Napidoll's new sculpts. A Pekato, he is just the perfect sculpt for Ethan and I have a serious case of do want. I'm just not too sure if I have the money for the head. It's limited sale till June 22nd, so I still have time to decide. Also Napidoll writes: "1st limited period" which makes it sound like he will be for sale in the future again. I have to ask them about it.


First picture is Napidoll Pekato (I always want to say Pikachu xD) and second picture is how I want Ethan to look like. I changed his hair and eye colour, but his character will pretty much be the same. He's a happy and outgoing boy, but he is very easy to confuse and disorganise. I thought it would be cute if he was Shay's best male friend and from time to time he gets small acting roles. Plus I think he will be asexual since I have no asexual characters and it just fits well for his character.

SWITCH event

The lovely SWITCH is having a really nice event for their 3rd anniversary. In this event there's 3 'specials', as SWITCH call them. Me, I'm most interested in the 'special 2' - it's sooo tempting! On May 17th, for only 30 minutes, you can buy one of their heads that haven't been for sale for a while. I would love to own a Milhwa, he would be Takumis boyfriend Hayden, a child book writer. Argh, so much do want! He was planned as the next character I wanted to buy, I just didn't expect it to be already now. xD

So very tempted

I was talking with my bestie and she pointed out that April Story have a discount on all of their dolls including their beautiful bodies. Apparently they're going to go through a renewal with new sculptors and managers and therefore they're having a lovely discount with a 41% off of the price before they're discontinuing all their dolls.
They do have some pretty sculpts, but I'm much more interested in their girl body. It's so tempting! Someone on their Q&A board asked if they also offer layaway on orders in the discount period. So I will wait and see what the answer is, even though I actually could buy without layaway. xD They have this offer till April 20th, so I still have a while to think about it.

Sexy business suit from Freedom Teller

I was looking for a simple baby blue shirt and went to take a look on Freedom Teller when I found this beautiful, sexy woman business suit. Damn, I wish I had a character that could wear such a lovely outfit.

I don't really have anything else to say, I just really felt like sharing. xD

Rosettadoll Agave

"I have to buy a body for one of my four floating heads," I said.
Then I went through some BJD news and saw this beauty from Rosettadoll. I can't! I need her, she's just too lovely. >w< She could totally be the stylist for my band. I'm still not a 100% sure if I should buy her, but I really want to. Why is it just so much more tempting to buy heads? 

SOOM Flint & Hawa

Yeah, already another post about new SOOM tinies. I can't help it.


Little bunnies. My first thought is that I don't like the mouth too much. I might change my opinion about that in the future though, I usually do. Other than that I love the rest of them. Their fantasy parts are so adorable. I think it's cool that you get two pair of ears with them. And the smoky grey colour looks cute, I wonder how different it is from the grey skin. It does look a little lighter. But what I like most about them is the clothes. It looks like a little mori-girl outfit. Do want! I am considering joining a split to get the girl clothes, but I'm not too sure yet.
