Photos: Intoxication

As I have mentioned in earlier blog posts I have started on the A Doll A Week 2014 challenge. Originally I wanted to share all of the photos from the challenge here on my blog, but I got so behind on blogging that it just would take too many blog post to catch up. ^^'' So I'll just post a few selected ones. I only have to take one photo for the challenge, but sometimes it turns into a little shoot in stead.

Photos: Happy holidays

On Saturday I took quite a few Christmas-y photos of my dollies. They're a bit simple as I was too lazy to do a big setup + I don't really have much stuff for a big setup, but it's better than last year where I didn't get any Christmas photos at all. xD

I actually also did another shoot at the end as a test and I think that some of the photos turned out good. But I'm a little unsure if I should post them since I wanted another outfit for the doll for the shoot. So in the end I think I'll save these photos and then try to re-shoot it when I get a new outfit for said doll. :3 Maybe I could edit one of them sometime and post here as a teaser?

Ah, I'm getting so slow at posting things here. I even have another shoot from the same day as this one that I haven't started editing yet.

Last time Lise was here (2 weeks ago) we went out to take some pictures. I only ever take my dolls outside when I'm with other people, I don't dare to do it alone. First we went to the botanic garden and later to The Old Town where I did the other shoot I mentioned with another doll. I brought along Hazuki since I realized that I hadn't done a serious shoot with him since January. I can't believe this lovely boy have been with me for over 5½ years by now. ♥

Box opening: Fdoll bodies

I've been quite busy the last week, so I haven't got the time to post this before now.
Back in February I placed and order from the European dealer Think Pink, where I bought a Fdoll girl body, a Fdoll boy body, high heeled feet from Resin Soul, shoes from Angell Studio and a carrier bag from Dollzone. It took forever for the things to ship, but on Wednesday last week my things finally arrived.

I even have another body to pick up at the post office, so expect another box opening soon. xD

My dolls as chibis

I've had this post in my draft for way too long by now. It's about time to publish it. Besides I've made new chibis on another site which I also want to post, but I thought these should be posted first. xD

I have btw sent Shay and Charlie out for face-up commission in Poland at Shaiel's. I'm so excited about getting my girls painted!

Testing brown eyes

For a while now I've been thinking about getting Hazuki and Takumi brown eyes. They're Japanese, so it didn't make much sense for them to have light blue and apple green eyes. I want to buy urethane eyes for all my dolls at some point, but it would have been a waste of money to buy for these two when I was so unsure about the colour. Furthermore I wasn't too sure if I should change the colour since I loved their eye colours, so I bought a pair of cheap glass eyes from DD-Anne to try out in them. And I got myself a nice surprise, they both look so great with brown eyes. :'D

How "finished" are my dolls?

I have bought a lot of stuff for my SD crew lately and it has made me think about how much they're "finished". It makes me so happy that Hazuki and Takumi are close to be "finished", but I still have a lot to buy to get the others "finished". D:
And it's not that Hazuki, Takumi and Melissa won't get more clothes or shoes, but the others don't even have a complete outfit or any shoes, which is why I wrote it for them.

Today it's been 5 years since I received my very first doll, Hazuki. I really can't believe it's already been that long. It feels like yesterday. :')

Only one photo this time, since I wasn't too satisfied with the photos from this set.

Onto a new year

I promised to make a post about how my 2012 has been and how I hope my 2013 will be and here it is. I like bullet point lists, so this post will just be a couple of those.

I didn't have too many plans for 2012:

• Buy a SOOM Bygg head for my grey skin Teenie Gem body.
• Buy a new sculpt for Hazuki. 
• Ship either Hazuki or Takumi out for face-up commission. 
• Perhaps buy a SD body.

Here's what did happen in 2012:

• Bought a SOOM Bygg head.
• I did buy a new sculpt for Hazuki (LLT Little Edria), but ended up changing my mind. Kept my Shiwoo as Hazuki and made the Edria a new character.
• Jointed a SDF split for an Abadon head.
• Shipped both Hazuki and Takumi out for face-up.
• Bought a Dollgru #12 head.
• Bought a Rosettadoll Agave head.

Other than that I gave up on doing face-ups myself and sold all my face-up stuff (which I now regret) and I sold 3 of my SOOM Teenie Gems, mostly to focus more on the SDs, but also because I want new sculpts for them.

Things I hope will happen in 2013:

• Ship Shay or/and my new girl (still nameless) out for face-up commission.
• Buy bodies for at least 2 of my heads.
• Buy a new wig for Melissa and Eli.
• Buy urethane eyes for at least 2 dolls.
• Buy clothes for Melissa, Trent, Takumi or/and Shay.
• Practise my sewing.
• Get better at taking pictures more often.
• Get new face-up stuff and start practise again.

I hope I won't buy any more new heads this year. Hopefully there won't be released some too tempting sculpts. I think that most of those things is do-able, I already plan to buy those 2 bodies soonish.

Photos: A light in the dark

My first photos of Hazuki in almost two years! T_T
I've had a good deal of trouble with him. Not sure if I liked his sculpt in the end, wiped off his face-up, put him up for sale, bought a new sculpt for him, took him off sale, put him away for a while and in the end I finally shipped him out for face-up commission.

I took these photos for a challenge on the Danish BJD forum where the theme is 'A light in the dark'. The first one is the one I posted.

Hazuki face-up preview

Back in August I shipped out Hazuki (CP Dreaming Shiwoo) and Takumi (IOS Anos) for face-ups in Hungary. The face-up artist has been a little delayed, so she's just getting done with my boys around this week. Hazuki is done and she sent me the finished look a few days ago. Takumi just needs a few more fixes and then he's also done, so I'll be getting my boys back soon. :'D
