Some people celebrate it, but most don't. I have never celebrated it, but I love using special occasions like this to take themed photos of my dolls.

Back in June, I bought four pairs of leggings from StarrshineDesigns on Etsy and among them was a pair of Halloween patterned leggings that you only somewhat can see in one of the photos. Tori loves Halloween, horror and everything spooky so I thought they were perfect for her. I looked through my doll clothes and found what would be most witch-like. It would've been cute with a little witch hat, but this scarf works fine too.

I have a little anecdote about these photos. I originally wanted to take the photos somewhere called The Old Town which is a kind of a museum where you can walk into old houses and see how people lived through the ages. This place is open for free after their closing hours. You can't walk into the houses, but you can go around the streets and the gardens. I've been there twice before with dolls previous years and it's a nice place to take photos as not many people know you can go in for free.

Anyways, they closed just about 1½ hour before sunset, but when I got down there I couldn't go in. Turns out that since last time I was there two years ago they changed it so they don't open up before about an hour after closing hours. I was there at 5:30PM (they closed at 5PM) and waited till 6:15PM before I went home.

It was kind of a shame as there was a beautiful golden light before the sunset and I think the surroundings in The Old Town would have fitted nicely for this outfit. But well, know I know for next year.
Is Halloween a thing in your country and is it something you celebrate?
It took me a while to make this post as I've been sick and haven't felt like doing much, but yet I've been a bit busy at the same time, so I haven't relaxed properly.

I'm so impressed with how fast Iplehouse are! I placed my order on September 11th and they shipped her on the 27th. Then it took nine days before she arrived in Denmark which surprised me a bit. Normally, I'm a pretty patient person, but I grew so impatient as EMS usually is faster. Then I had to wait for the letter about customs fees and this also took a few extra days, but then I finally got her!

She is just pure perfection! I'm so happy that I was able to get her before she was discontinued. ♥ Her name is Sakina and I still don't know much about her character except that she's from Kenya and fled to the UK with her parents and younger sister when she was 12, and that she, of course, also is a model, as most of my other characters. Someday I also want to get her sister, Inaya, whom I plan to be a Merry Doll Round Zuri.

The weather was weird when I did this box opening. One moment the sun was out, the next it was gone and this went on throughout all the photos, so don't mind the changing colours and light.

On the same day I also received an order from Volks, but more about that further down.

I don't have a wig for her yet, so she stole Thalia's original wig.

Now onto the Volks order. Earlier this year I read a blog post somewhere about taking care of doll hair on dolls like Pureneemos as their hair is rooted and can't be changed as easy as buying a new wig for a BJD. Along with some synthetic hair styling products, I bought a Tangle Teezer brush that should be great because it's flexible and the bristles give in before destroying the fibres.

I've been planning this order for a while and had originally put it on my plans for next year. Volks write the full value on their packages so custom fees are guaranteed. My plan was, therefore, to make an order next year and include an outfit. But Volks had just released a dress I really liked, so I decided to order right away. Originally, I wanted the grey version with a zipper on the front, but it was temporary out of stock and with no knowledge of when it would be restocked I took the white dress instead.

This post has been long in the making since I had to re-write it a few times and kept postponing it because of this. Anyways, on to the subject.

I've been experimenting a bit with uploading my photos to Instagram and at first, I thought I had it all figured out, but as I did some more testing I got confused. I was almost finished with writing a mini tutorial about this topic, but I did, even more, testing and finally figured out what worked for me.

The reason behind all my testing is that I have been experiencing some bad decrease of the quality of the photos I upload to Instagram. This is with my DSLR camera and not my phone camera. It has been like this for some time now, but I never bothered to look for a solution before now.

Here are some examples of the compression Instagram has done to my photos. The original photo is on the left and the one from Instagram is on the right.

It's pretty bad as you can see.

My initial thought was that one of the reasons was had to because I have been resizing my photos to 700px on the longest side as this is the size I use for my blog. But during my testing, I learned that the pixel resolution had nothing to do with it.

I urge you to do your own testing with uploading as my research suggests different things work for different people.

What has worked for me, is to use the Save for Web in Photoshop 7 instead of the Save As which I normally use. In Photoshop CC you find Save for Web under File > Export. I don't know how this works with other editing software.

This tip will not be useful for everyone. Maybe most people already use the Save for Web and therefore never experienced this compression, but I do know a few people have had the same problem and I hope this can help you.
Next week I'm going to a cottage on a small island here in Denmark with my sister, brother, and sister-in-law. I will take one of my SDs and my two Pureneemos with me. Hopefully, I will get some nice photos.Tjassihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07766008118142331894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-905365261938661807.post-67936628451973413012017-08-24T09:37:00.000+02:002017-08-24T09:37:31.439+02:00A few changes in Thalia's story and styleI'm so bad at sharing stories about my characters! When I have changes that I want to blog about I realize that I never shared what the story was before.

So let's start with a bit of the old story about Thalia. She used to be the lead singer in a goth rock band with all men beside her, but she grew tired it and formed an all-girl goth rock band with two of Lise's old characters. After Lise changed her characters I still had "permission" to say that Thalia was in a band with Trisha and Isabelle. Also, she was in an open relationship with Trent whom I don't own anymore. At this time Thalia's fashion style was mostly casual goth and then more dressed up for the band.

Here's a photo of the girl band, Niveous, from a little over a year ago that I also never shared on my blog.

There's a bit of it that remains the same. She was still in a goth rock band with all men that she left, and she was also in the same open relationship with Trent, but she broke up with him since she couldn't keep waiting for him to change. After these events, she gets in a relationship with Shay and they form an indie duo together. I will still use the name Niveous since I'm too lazy to come up with a new name. Her fashion style has also broadened a bit, so in addition to casual goth she now also wears the bohemian style. The story about how Thalia and Shay meet and how they become a couple is not fully developed yet, but I will definitely share it when I know more about it.

I got to try this lavender wig on Thalia some time ago when I visited Lise and I was surprised that it actually suits her. In the future, I want a pretty Amadiz Studio wig for her in this colour.

I have been absolutely in love with the Iplehouse's bohemian outfits from the Isabel and Nancy fullsets. I tried looking for a split on the Isabel outfit, but I got no response, and then there recently was a split on the Nancy outfit in the Danish community, but with Ashanti being discontinued I sadly couldn't afford it. Since Iplehouse has released a bit bohemian FID clothes I hope they also will release some in the SID size. Otherwise, I can still find outfits from SartoriaJ on Etsy.
She will be my last new Pureneemo for a good while beside the Wizard of Oz Himeno that I already have pre-ordered and won't be shipped before next year. To my surprise and luck, she arrived without custom fees, meaning that I could put about $70 aside to Ashanti.

On the sad note, though, her shoes were missing. I have contacted Fabric Friends & Dolls and they contacted Azone about it. They will get a pair of shoes with their next shipment and send them to me. I had actually seen a box opening video of this Yuzuha on Youtube where the shoes also were missing. She had tried it once before where it was the whole shipment of dolls that didn't have their shoes. I was a bit nervous that mine might be missing too, but since it took some extra time for my Yuzuha to ship, I assumed it was because they held them back to add the shoes. Apparently not, but at least I will get the shoes.

Her name is Asuki and it's sort of a tribute to my first BJD, Hazuki, whom I don't own anymore. Years after naming him Hazuki I learned that it actually mostly is a female name. I didn't want to name her exactly the same, so Asuki it is. She goes by the nickname Asu-nyan, inspired by the anime K-on!
I then noticed their slide-banner-thingy had an image with the title "Discontinued E.I.D Heads" and saw that Ashanti was among the ones that will get discontinued.

A light brown Ashanti has been on my wishlist for so long, so this made me really sad. I considered if I could settle with a Lehela or Aaliyah. Both sculpts are lovely, but I just didn't get the same feeling I did with Ashanti. Then I did the most stupid I could do - I went to look at photos of Ashanti on Flickr and I fell for her all over again. I just have to get her!

I'm currently saving up for a new laptop since the one I have now is almost 5 years old and has seen better days. It still works fine though, it's just a bit slow and overheats once in a while. I was also planning to buy some new urethane eyes and a bit YoSD clothes this year too. If I buy Ashanti all this will be postponed which is a shame, but she is a dream doll of mine. I'd also have to go on a no spend for doll stuff if I buy Ashanti to save up for a computer again.

Ashanti in ebony skin, since there are no photos of her in light brown. Photo is from Iplehouse

My next step was to consider if I could use her in real skin in stead so I could avoid the doll choice system, save a little money and use layaway. But it just doesn't feel right to get her in real skin, it has to be light brown.

The other day I realized that Iplehouse has made the option to just buy the head and it's available in light brown. Buying just the head will probably be more expensive since I have to buy a full doll later and hope I can sell the head, plus there will be double custom fees. I won't take a final decision before the middle of September when doll choice system closes down, but it's a nice option that they sell just the head so I can get her if I can't raise the funds for a full doll.

I'm thinking about selling a few of my Pureneemos to be able to afford Ashanti. Pureneemos are somewhat easy to get again and there are so many cute releases so I would be okay with not being able to get the ones I sell again. Tjassihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07766008118142331894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-905365261938661807.post-37984470654278175232017-07-30T14:41:00.001+02:002017-08-08T19:30:20.628+02:00Isi, the imaginary friendSince I sold Hazuki and Takumi last year, Isi is now my oldest doll. Back when I used to have a little army of SOOM tinies he was a part of some sort of fantasy universe that I never developed much on. They only had a brief personality. Isi is the last one left from back then and I wasn't sure how he would fit in with my other dolls that exist in a world like our own. I was certain that I didn't want to sell him, though, since I absolutely adore him.

I don't think I ever shared it on my blog, but I got the idea that he could be Ayla's imaginary friend. When Ayla grows up she learns that she is gender-fluid, but I think she already experiences dysphoria and thoughts related to this as a child. Therefore Isi is a shape-shifter. He can turn from between a boy, a girl, and a deer. Ayla makes him up as a child, but he grows with her. As she gets interested in gaming and drawing, Isi becomes an original character of hers. I personally don't know much about these types of games, but I imagine that she plays games where you get to design your own character and that Isi is a healer type.

Isi is a loving and caring person. He enjoys helping others, but is very naive, resulting in him sometimes being used by others. His passion is nature and he cares deeply about it, sometimes to the extent that he gets obsessive about it. It's still a somewhat brief personality and I don't know his backstory yet, but hopefully, I will learn more about him.

Personally I'm used to saying he about Isi, but in reality, you can use both he and she pronouns.
I quickly learned that the different Azone models have birthdays and that people post photos with a birthday tag. I thought this was such a cute idea, so I started looking for the birthdays on the models I own. Lycee was the first of them with her birthday being today, July 20th.

Last weekend I went on a trip to The Japanese Garden that is located about 20 minutes by bus from where I live and I brought Misaki along. This place is really gorgeous! Short before I was about to go home, I realised that Lise and I first visited this place 10 years ago. Time sure flies! Since then they've been closed for periods of time since one owner went bankrupt, and they changed owners a few times. Now they're owned by a conference company who are nice enough to keep the garden open on the weekends from the start of May until the end of August. With free entrance even.

I hope to visit the garden once more this year before they close. Next year I will try to aim for the sakura season and then, hopefully, have a yukata for one of my dolls by then.
She was originally going to be my character Olivia, but some time ago I made a few changes in my doll family and ended up dropping a couple of my characters that didn't have much relevance anymore. I didn't want to part with my Sui though since it's such a lovely head.

Then Tori came along. The other day Lise asked me how I came up with Tori, but I have to admit that I have completely forgotten. I think it had something to do with the fact I wanted to try a different type of face-up than what I usually get on my dolls? So back in April, I got a slot with Raquel Clemente and I got my girl back last week. She turned out absolutely stunning! ♥ I've always wanted a doll with matte lipstick.

Her full name is Victoria but goes by Tori. She is a transgender woman and is still in her transitioning process. She is half Filipino and half British. I don't know much about her yet, but I'm thinking that she met Shay and Charlie through the gay bar, where she told she was a big fan of Yoonie. Shay and Charlie then told that they work with Yoonie and that she could tag along with them to meet Yoonie. Maybe she even gets a chance to work with her idol. I'm not sure yet.
Lise received them last week and shipped mine my way already the same day. ♥ I received them on Friday last week and decided to do a mini photostory/box opening-thingy. Since my last post, I have also received my Meow x Meow a la Mode Abyssinian Maya. I didn't get around to do a box opening with her though.

The photos are not the best. I suck at taking box opening photos and I also forgot to get photos of a few things, like the boxes, the booklets and the Miu outfit I bought from Lise. Ah well, lately I try to remember the saying "Finished, not perfect" and try to finish more of my projects instead of striving for perfection. I'm still not too good at it. It has taken me about a week to write the blog post. But I try!

Enough babbling! Here are the photos of my Meow x meow a la Mode Kuroneko Lycee and Otogi no Kuni Snow White Snow Princess Aika.
I won't make any promises, so let's see how things turn out.

If you read Nikki's blog you might know that both of us recently pre-ordered an Azone Pure Neemo Otogi no Kuni Wizard of Oz Himeno (such long names to write compared to BJDs). We won't get her before the start of next year, though. This is where everything started to crumble. It's been less than a month since we pre-ordered Himeno and since then I've bought four more of which I've received one... I don't know what happened. I've wanted a Pure Neemo for so long but never got around to buy one and now I've bought and pre-ordered five in less than a month. I think I caught a virus of some sort and now my wallet is crying in the corner. Does any of you by any chance know of a treatment to this virus? xD

Enough rambling. The one I bought and received is an Otogi no Kuni Benibara-san Mio. I bought her from Plasticpop in Germany and she arrived two days after being shipped. She arrived just as I was about to head out, but I managed to take some quick shots before I left. She's been sitting around me since I got her on Thursday. ♥
I started doing the Easter Chaos stories in 2013 and only missed last year due to some personal issues. This year I got back on track even though it was quite a task. It was a warm day, so I got a bit sweaty, the dolls kept falling as I walked between the table and the camera, and the daylight kept changing. I got the photos thought and somewhat saved them the best I could with Photoshop. There are things I'm not a 100% satisfied with, but that's usual for me and at least I got the photos and posted them.
There is a red thread between the Easter Chaos stories, but you can still read them on their own. Here are links to the previous stories, if anyone might want to read those too.
Originally it was a February pre-order and when February came we both added some in stock items to the order. I had added a Beach Queen Kotori from Love Live!, a Chopper from One Piece and three Love Live! notebooks. By the end of February we got a mail that said we couldn't get the items anyway for some reason. It turns out that Menma was delayed from the company. I was a bit bummed since I really wanted those figures, but luckily I found some new items I wanted and even more lucky I could still add the Love Live! notebooks to the new order. :D

Enough rambling, here's the photos of our order.
It has taken me some time to figure what it exactly was, but now I think I finally know what; I don't think I do well with male dolls. Before I always thought it was the number of "unfinished" dolls (even when it only was a few), the amount of dolls or a too big wishlist. I have tried to cut down by selling a doll to have fewer floating heads, but that nagging feeling never disappeared.

After talking with Nikki on the phone about what might be bothering me I came to the conclusion that it might be my boys. It's not that I don't like them, but when I looked through my photos on Flickr I realized that I rarely photograph them. They just don't inspire me as much as my girls do, whom I have tons of photos of.

Photographing is such a big part of the hobby for me <strike>(not that I take many photos lately though)</strike>, so I don't see the point of having my boys just sitting on the shelf being pretty. Therefore I have decided to sell Takumi, Trent and Caleb. I'm not too sad with this decision since I will be keeping their characters. That way I don't have to change anything in the story and keep a possibility open if I ever should regret my decision.

I get easily stressed when I have too much up for sale at once therefore I'll sell them one by one to make it more manageable for myself. So there might pop a few more photos of Caleb up since I'll sell him last. :)

Next set of questions are from Orion Cain over at Earl Grey Atelier.

1. What is the first thing you look for when you're sculpt hunting?
Most of the time I end up creating a character for a sculpt I've fallen for. So when I finally go sculpt hunting it's because the character has developed and doesn't fit the first sculpt any more. In that occasion I of course look for features that will fit the character better.

2. Name one of your favorite, or your absolute favorite company, and tell us why you chose it?
One of my favourites is definitely Iplehouse. The sculpts, realism, tan skin colours, beautiful bodies. What is there not to like? <strike>Other than a few nuisances with the posing.</strike>

3. Are you in the hobby because you simply like dolls and think they are beautiful, or is there another reason?
Well, both that and then what I've mentioned in previous post; the friends and creative aspects. I feel like I repeat myself so much with all these tags. xD

4. Describe how your perfect sculpt would look like! (You can attach an illustration or sketch for fun)
Skipping this one. I can't draw and don't really think about how my perfect sculpt would look like.

5. Choose one doll from your collection that you would part it! And explain why.
This is a evil question! I don't wanna part with any of my darlings. ;_; If I really had to it would probably be either Thalia (Iplehouse SID Stella) or Ayla (Volks YoSD Kanon) since they're easier to get again.

6. Tell us something interesting about one of your resin family members!
Some of my dolls work as part time models, but they only do very few model jobs in a month. So to have a stable income they have other jobs as well. Olivia is an artist. I haven't fully decided what she exactly do. I imagine that she makes illustrations for children's books, but also have exhibitions from time to time.

7. If you were suddenly gifted with the skill of BJD sculpting, what would you name your company?
I'm so extremely bad at coming up with names (it takes me forever to give photos a title), so I think I'll just chose my blog name: Resin Wonderland. xD

8. What is one question you hate being asked in this hobby?
There's so many, haha! But maybe what my favourite company is. There's too many lovely companies!!

9. Do your dolls have favorite foods? (you can pick one doll, and share)
I haven't come up with it for every character, but they definitely have favourite foods! Ayla loves candy, but you have to hide that stuff away! Just imagine that girl high on sugar! D: To mention something that is more "real" food, Olivia loves curry and I think that Shay enjoys the traditional English breakfast.

10. What is an aesthetic you hate in BJDs?
There's no aesthetics I hate, but I personally don't like dreaming or sleeping dolls in my own doll family. I love seeing other people's dreaming and sleeping dolls, but they just don't work well for me.

11. And last but not least, do you have anything to say to people in the hobby?
Let's all support the artists, and spread positiveness and joy in this lovely hobby! ♥Tjassihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07766008118142331894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-905365261938661807.post-3313858992335288082016-02-28T19:12:00.002+01:002017-07-24T11:08:52.769+02:00Raouken corset review + Liebster Award #2When Nikki visited me back in January I had the change to try her new gorgeous corset from Raouken on my dolls. First I tried in on Shay and it fit her perfectly. Thalia tried it next, but as I already had thought it didn't fit her at all. I could also have tried it on my Classydoll body, but since it has a large bust, I didn't even bother to try.

After tying and untying the corset a few times I regretted not getting photos of Shay in the corset the first time she had it on. xD That thing takes time to tie!

Shay is on the Volks SDGr girl body and the corset is made for Delf girls. It sits really great on the bust and doesn't gab too much on the back. It's a super nice fit on the body.

Nikki bought the corset from a custom listing Raouken had on her Etsy, where you could chose your own colours for fabric, ribbon, lace and a few other things. Sadly she has removed the custom option for now, but one can always hope she opens up for the option again. I definitely want some for Shay and I'm also tempted to try her Super Gem size for Thalia.

I don't think there's much other to say, so I'll just let the photos speak for themselves.

Next Liebster Award tag is from Kirstine over at A Tiny Jurney.

1. What is the best thing that has ever happened to you because of this hobby?
I feel like this is going to be a repetition from a question from the last blog post. The friends I've gained and the ways I get to unfold my creativity is definitely the best thing that has happened to me. :D

2. Do you think this hobby has changed you as a person?
The hobby has been a big part of my life in 8 years so I'd say it probably has changed me as a person. I can't say exactly how though, maybe it has made me a bit more social? I dunno.

3. When did you start collecting, and what was your idea when you started (like limits of how many dolls, limits as to what to spend, maybe you only wanted dolls from a certain company)?
I got my first doll in January 2008 and some of the rules I had back then includes: no tinies, no female dolls, no tans, not too many (didn't have a number) and probably more I can't remember.

4. What are the main reasons why you are in this hobby?
Um, same as question 1, I think? ^^'

5. Are there certain people/brands/etc. that inspires your collection?
A lot of things inspire me; checking photos on Flickr, looking at model photos on Pinterest, nature, and probably also people and brands, not that I can think of many examples right now. Only that a photo I once saw of G-Dragon inspired to a shoot with Yoonie.

6. Where do you store your doll-boxes?
Most of them are in my basement and then I have two in my apartment where I store resin parts.

7. How long did you wait on your dolls from they were paid off until you had them in your hands? Please mention the fastest and slowest!
Oh, I don't remember stuff like this! xD The longest wait has probably been from SOOM with layaway + wait time, I don't remember which had the longest wait though. The slowest.. oh year, that would be my Volks Kanon that I bought from a friend. I got her before I could even make the first payment. ♥

8. What is the most appealing feature in a dolls face?
I have a thing for lips and teeth! Most of my girls sculpts has teeth. xD

9. Do you have a no-go? F.ex. big noses, angry eyes, teeth showing, etc.
Not really, but I don't go well with dolls with sleeping or dreaming eyes. I get a bit frustrated that I can't see their beautiful eyes too well.

10. If you could have any doll in the world, which do you desire most?
I don't really have a grail doll. There's lots of beautiful sculpts out there that I wouldn't mind owning like for example a Volks Williams, but I'm also fine with not being able to get him. So maybe one of those gorgeous European artist dolls? I don't follow the artist doll market very much, but I remember there has been quite a few beautiful ones that I wouldn't mind owning, but again I don't remember which ones. D:

11. Do you have a preferred skin tone for your resin buddies?
Most of my dolls are normal skin, but I actually prefer tan skin. Gotta love all those beautiful brown tones!! There's also a lot of fantasy colours I love (looking at you Peak's Woods), but they don't fit in my 'humans in London' setting. xDTjassihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07766008118142331894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-905365261938661807.post-80128373048485128272016-02-19T23:42:00.000+01:002017-07-24T11:08:52.794+02:00Returning again + Leibster Award #1First off I want to explain my silence for the last one and a half month. When the Liebster Award tag started going around I was tagged three times, then I found a fourth tag and in the end I was tagged six times (over about a week or so). Don't misunderstand me here, I really appreciate every last one of those tags and will do my best to do them, but I was overwhelmed. In stead of doing the tags one by one I completely shut down and just slowly disappeared without trying to answer any of the tags. Now I have started to miss blogging and actually have a few things I want to share with you lovely people. Therefore I have decided that I will include one Liebster Award tag in the next six posts I'm doing.

As the first post in a while I just want to share a bit of the photos I've taken lately. I have a few other old shots that I haven't uploaded anywhere yet, but some are still unedited and one comes with a small review. ;D

I'm starting off with the questions from Nikki over at Resin Romance.

1. Have you become friends with anyone thanks to this hobby?
Yes, I've become friends with some really lovely people though this hobby; both online and IRL.

2. Which of your dolls do you resemble the most? Tell me about them?
All of my dolls have a bit of my own characteristics in them, but who do I resemble the most? Maybe Shay? We've both dealt with depression, are both vulnerable and therefore can't always deal with too much stuff going on at the same time. I also want to mention Olivia as both of us are quiet and very introverted.

3. Which dolly trend should just die already? Why?
I can't think of any trends I dislike right now.

4. What company makes the best clothes in your opinion?
That's a difficult one! I have a few favourites: Iplehouse, Nine9 Style, Sadol, Fredom Teller, Tree Design, Helleborus. Okay, that was more than a few, but I like all of them equally. :<

5. What is the next doll on your wishlist?
Next resin on my wishlist is either a Withdoll SWD body or a Popodoll 68cm body, but the next full doll is Thalia's daughter, Sofia who is going to be a Volks YoSD Elena.

6. What is your favorite creative thing to do in this hobby?
What I love about this hobby is the many different creative aspects it has and I like to do many of them, but I think my favourite has to be photography; even though I suck at posing the dolls. xD

7. Do you have a dolly couple? Please share a bit about them?
I have three couple myself and then two shared with Nikki. Since Trent and Thalia are the only couple where I have both dolls home I'll share a bit about them. Both of them are musicians and have met through music. They've slept together a few times and one time they thought they would try the whole 'open relationship' thing. After some time they develop feelings for each other, but Trent tries to hide it since he's afraid of commitment and being a bad step-father for Thalia's daughter.

8. Do you have anyone you really admire in this hobby?
I do! But there's too many to mention here! ;D

9. How do you feel about mods on rare/limited heads?
I think that people should be able to do whatever they want with the stuff they own. That doesn't mean that I don't sometimes think it's a shame when people completely destroy something limited or rare.

10. What is the worst thing ever happen to you in this hobby?
At first I had trouble thinking of something, but I just remembered that I was scammed a few years ago by someone who had set up a dealer site, but never bought the body I had ordered from the company. Sometimes I still stalk this person on their Tumblr, see that they buy dolls and tons of pets, then I hate a bit on them and try to forget it all again afterwards.

11. What is the best thing ever happen to you in this hobby?
I can't think of anything other than what I've already written about; the friends I've got and the creative aspects of the hobby. ^^Tjassihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07766008118142331894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-905365261938661807.post-12893550529257672202016-01-03T22:47:00.000+01:002017-07-24T11:08:52.738+02:00Doll plans for 2016I hope you all have arrived safely in the new year!

I've had this post ready for over a week, but I've been so exhausted after celebrating New Years with my sister, brother and sister-in-law, so I didn't have the energy to finish it up before now. I do have a few more hopes/plans for 2016, <strike>like more heels from Taobao,</strike> but these are the plans I want to focus most on!

1. Get face-up on at least two heads
I have two blank heads at the moment, Olivia, my Or-doll Sui and my nameless Switch Uhui. These are the two I will prioritize in 2016, but I do hope I can get a new face-up one some of my other dolls too, especially Trent.

2. Buy at least two pairs of urethane eyes
Only Trent and Olivia are missing urethane eyes. I want light brown for Olivia, probably from either Enchanted Dolls or Doll Bakery. For Trent I'm still not sure. Originally I wanted a greyish blue colour for him, but I've fallen a bit in love with the colour of his temporary eyes which are more of a light golden brown. Maybe I'll buy both colours and see which I like best.

3. Buy at least one bodies, hopefully two
It might change which bodies I end up buying, but at this moment I'm most interested in buying a Withdoll SWD female body and a Popodoll 68cm male body. My intentional plans was to start the year with a layaway on a Withdoll SWD girl and then sell the head, but I remembered something else I wanted to buy first..

4. Buy more clothes for Thalia, Caleb and/or Trent
.. which is two outfits for Thalia from Iplehouse (plus another outfit I hope some of my other girls can fit)! I'm so much in love with these outfits and would really hate for them to be sold out before I would be able to get them. I currently don't have any specific plans for clothes for the Caleb and Trent, but I don't doubt I will be able to find something.

Photos © Iplehouse

5. Look out for the perfect wig for Trent
Trent has not been easy regarding wigs. I've only ever bought one for him, so luckily he hasn't been expensive yet. I know that is has to be dark red, short in one side and longer in the other, but he hasn't really been satisfied with the few I have found online so far. I've been thinking about trying to cut a mohair wig myself, but I'm not sure. Maybe I should just commission one of the excellent wig makers out there.

6. Practice sewing
I really want to be able to sew some simple things like skirts, so in 2016 I hope I will dig out my sewing machine and start practising!!

I just noticed that my plans are more focused on what I want to buy. After reading a few other 2016 goals/plans post I was reminded that I also want to try making wigs, making props, take more photos and blog more often. I could add all these to my list now, but I'm afraid it will be too long and get more impossible for me to accomplish. I will try to do these things in 2016 and otherwise I might put them on my plans next year, as I feel like my dolls are getting closer to being as complete as they can be this year. Tjassihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07766008118142331894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-905365261938661807.post-84984180684477312602015-12-15T23:03:00.001+01:002017-07-24T11:08:52.805+02:00Review of 2015 plansIt's that time of the year to see how well I did with my 2015 plans. Seems like everyone else already has done it - I'm late to the party as usual. xD Apparently I didn't post my plans on my blog so I took them from the Danish BJD forum and translated them.

Let's see how well I did!

Buy Keegan - BNBdoll Back-ro head.
No Keegan this year and for now it seems like I'm cutting this character off from my wishlist, so maybe it was a good thing I didn't buy him. Btw, if you don't know BNBdoll you should go check them out! They have some handsome boys!

Buy Thalia - Iplehouse EID Stella.
This one happened and at a really great deal even. Nikki over at Resin Romance found her for me on eBay. It was really nerve wrecking as she only was for sale in The United Kingdom at first, but I cut a deal with the seller that I could buy her if no one else had when the auction ended. In the end I saved about $200 + the custom fees that could've been about $250 on her! ♥

My beautiful Thalia together with Trent.

Buy at least one body for my floating heads.
I didn't get to buy any bodies this year sadly. Hope I can make up for that next year!

Get face-up on at least two heads.
Only my Immortality of Soul Sezz ended up getting a face-up this year. I'm still waiting for him to return from Pearls of Danube though.

Buy new wig for Takumi, Caleb and/or Ayla.
All three of them ended up getting new wigs and luckily I'm satisfied with all three.

Buy clothes for Caleb and/or Ayla.
I bought a small amount of clothes for both of them. Like a vest for Caleb and a shirt for Ayla. Both of them need more, but at least I got them something. xD

Buy at least two pairs of urethane eyes.
I had to check a bit up on this one. I'm currently waiting for three pairs of Enchanted Doll eyes with Nikki's Peak's Woods order and one pair of Mako eyes, but I couldn't remember if I had bought any eyes earlier this year - I hadn't.

Buy hands for my Volks YoSD and/or SDGr body.
I bought two pair of hands for Ayla. She got the peace and pointing hands. I still want more for her, but I should focus on getting some hands for Shay in stead. ^^'

Try to avoid buying more than two heads.
Another success! The heads I bought this year was an Or-doll Sui and a SNG Uhui.

Practice cutting wigs.
I was surprised that I actually got this one done as well. I'm still not good at cutting wigs, but I cut at least three wigs this year. At least I'm not as afraid of cutting wigs now as I was before.

One of the wigs I cut. It's not perfect, but I still need practice. Original wig.

So in the end it's two missed and one half done. That's not too bad! I had imagined I did much worse. I hope I can keep it up next year. ;D

Tjassihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07766008118142331894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-905365261938661807.post-8789063196805748892015-11-22T21:22:00.000+01:002017-07-24T11:08:52.812+02:00#ProBJDArtists 2015I started brainstorming for the #ProBJDArtists day already a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to do something other than 'dolls standing with paper with text', but I've been completely empty for ideas. So in the end I went with the dolls with paper, but as a little photo story with my tinies with a bit of humour thrown in to it.

It was a mess taking these photos. Just as I had gathered the energy to start the sun disappeared behind some clouds. I decided to take the photos anyway. Then halfway through the sun decided to come back. *sighs* Furthermore I've been away from home for almost half of the day both yesterday and today so I didn't have too much time to perfect the editing.

I would have loved to write a more in-depth post about recasts and my opinion, but truth is that I'm exhausted and tired, so this will have to do. Maybe next year?

Even thought Ayla screwed a bit up, I hope hers and Isi's message is clear. ^^
So here I am, trying to get a bit back to blogging once again.

Last month Lise was visiting and we went to a Halloween meet together. For the occasion I wanted to put my dolls in costumes. I had a few great ideas, one of them as simple as a ghost, but as always I procrastinated to the last moment and didn't get anything done. So in the end the only one with a proper costume was Ayla as a cute little mummy. I tried putting some outfits together for the others with what I had. Takumi went as a 'gangster' (cause he's so hardcore... xD), Shay as a mori-girl and Yoonie as a witch. I also brought Isi and Thalia, but they didn't have any costumes. Sadly I didn't take many photos from the meet and apparently the only photos I did take were of Ayla, and some of Anne and Avi's dolls, haha. xD

All photos in this post are btw edited with VSCO on my phone. My laptop can't be calibrated properly and has an annoying blue tint. I have a monitor to use when I edit photos, but I was too lazy to set it up for these photos, so I thought I would try using my phone and I guess the editing turned out okay.

Lise encouraged me to get some photos of my dolls the day after the meet. I got a few of Thalia, Lise's Isabelle and a mini story of Ayla in the mummy costume. I'm not entirely satisfied with those of Ayla, but thought I would share them anyway. I might share the shots of Thalia and Isabelle in another post.
I miss blogging, but my motivation and energy is lacking. I will try my best to just be blogging once in a while, hopefully I can get up to posting at least once a month. ^^

I follow Nine9 Style on Twitter and a few weeks ago they started teasing for a scouts outfit, which has been released since then. At first I didn't think much about it, but they kept posting more photos of the outfit and at one point it just hit me: Ayla is a scout. With her energy and love for being outdoors it's almost obvious that she would be a scout. :D

Image © Nine9 Style

Sadly the outfit is both limited and for Nine9 Style's own Bunny Nine size which is 35cm, so it wouldn't fit a YoSD.

You can even buy a backpack and a sleeping bag as extras. So cute! ♥

Have you ever tried something similar? Finding inspiration for your characters (or something else) in places you didn't expect to? Tjassihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07766008118142331894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-905365261938661807.post-82101952267403316712015-04-05T22:27:00.000+02:002017-07-24T11:08:52.797+02:00Photo story: Easter chaos part IIITwo years ago I started on an Easter photo story with Isi and I've been doing my best to continue what now has become a tradition for me. I posted the first part here on my blog, but for some reason I didn't post the second one anywhere but Flickr!? Oo You can read the new one without having read the others, but they're more fun if you read all of them. ^^

This one was made in a bit of a rush. Lack of ideas, quick weird idea, too lazy to edit the photos properly.... So not the most perfect photos, but the story is there. xD

Happy Easter to all of you!!
Just two more to go. xD

Btw! I'm sorry if I'm a bit slow at replying messages and commenting on your blog posts lately. Things are going a bit better, but my energy and motivation is still pretty much non-existing. >_<
I'm tagged to do like three more interviews and it might take me some time to do them all, but they will all get done eventually.

Oh, and no re-tagging from me since I'm lazy like that. xD

My name is Ga-Yoon Dixon, but please just call me Yoonie.
2) What is your nationality/ethnicity?
I'm Korean, but was adopted and raised in England.
I'm taken by two lovelies! Gabby and Donna.

6) Are you straight/bi/trans/etc?
*ahem* You do know that trans isn't a sexuality, right? We need better education about transgender people and sexuality in general. To answer the question I'm lesbian and a trans woman. This means I was assigned male at birth, but identify as female and I've been through a transition so both my mind and body are female.

7) Favorite hobby?
Who has time for hobbies? *laughs* I barely have any spare time, but I do enjoy the rare moments I get to do yoga.

8) Favorite food & drink?
My mother make the best lasagne ever! And you can never go wrong with a good wine.

9) Do you have a job?
Actually I have many jobs. I own a model agency, write books and give lectures about transgender- and woman rights.

10) What is your favorite animal?
I've always loved dolphins, but seahorses are cool too. I generally like sea creatures.

11) What is your bad habit?
I'm told that I have a bad tendency to help people and push my own problems aside. I guess they're right. Maybe I need someone helping me? *laughs* I might be drinking a bit too much coffee as well.

12) What is your favorite hangout?
There's this lovely little café in the centre of London. I love those rare moments I get to spend there with a good friend. *big smile*

13) Do you have a favourite holiday?
Hmm, that's a tough decision between Christmas and New Year. I think I'll go with New Year, it's always exciting to start a new year.

14) Dolls (from other families) you'd like to meet?
Oooh! I always love meeting new people! *claps hands together* Doing collaborations is one of the best things I know, anyone up for it?

15) Would you briefly tell us your background?
As said earlier I'm adopted and I have the best parents. They've been there for me the entire time through my transition and supported me in any way they could. School was really tough for me though. I was teased and bullied in every school I went to up until my last years of secondary school. At this point I was getting closer to my transition, I finally found some great and supportive friends, and I found a goal with my life. After this I've been working hard to get to the point I'm at. The most difficult part being starting a new kind of model agency. Finding clients that want models outside the 'normal' ideals isn't easy, but now it's up and running. Things are going really great.

Tjassihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07766008118142331894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-905365261938661807.post-91500472170660259852015-02-25T15:32:00.001+01:002017-07-24T11:08:52.820+02:00Sell a head... and buy a new oneA month ago I sold my Switch Milhwa head to a friend and just a week or so later I bought a new head. Yeah, there it is again! The buying heads are so much easier problem.. -.- The fun thing is that in the end it's not easier at all. You have to look for a body, it has to have the right proportions for the head and then there's the resin match. I just can't help myself. I think I need help! xD

The head I ended up buying is an OR-doll Sui. I fell in love with this head back when it was released, but I couldn't figure out how it would fit in. Since the head is limited I kept returning and finally it hit me that I maybe could use it for Nathalie, Ayla's mother. I'm not a 100% sure, but I took the change. Later stupid Lise planted the idea in my head that I also could use it for a gay male model.. >o< I don't need more new characters! Not before I've bought some of the other characters on my 'want to buy' list.. but now I just can't seem to shake the idea off me. I will do my best to resist the idea and think of the head as Nathalie though. Hopefully I won't fail.*fingers crossed*
She's already in the customs, I'm just waiting for them to release her. I'll be putting her on a semi-hiatus to focus more on the dolls that are closer to be 'finished'. :D
